1st Team All State

Jack Meyer – 2021

After missing the 2020 season, Jack had a great 2021 season that included earning First Team All-State honors and helping to lead the team to a 3rd place finish at the state tournament.  That season Jack batted .459, which is 4th all-time for a single season, with 34 RBIs, 3rd all-time and 45 hits, 2nd all-time.  Jack also contributed on the mound with a 2.17 ERA in almost 10 innings.  Jack has continued his career at Lindenwood University the last 3 seasons.

Sean Barnett – 2021

After missing 2020 during COVID, Sean had an electric 2021 season that concluded with First Team All-State honors and a 3rd place trophy at the state tournament.  As the starting center fielder, Sean batted .385, scored 32 runs, drove in 33 runs and was hit 10 times.  The latter 3 were top 5 in program history for a single season.  Sean also pitched 18 innings with a 3.11 ERA and 23 strikeouts getting the win in the 3rd place game at state.  Sean continued his career at Wingate University before being drafted in the 11th round by the Padres organization in 2024, becoming the 2nd Summit player drafted into the MLB.  

Jackson Rutledge – 2017

As a senior in 2017 Jackson was named First-Team All-State after being named to the Second Team in 2016.  During the ‘17 season he had a 1.20 ERA going 6-1 and set the school record for strikeouts in a season (85), while also setting career records for games (38), games started (35), innings pitched (159), wins (17) and strikeouts (179).  Jackson continued his career by pitching for the University of Arkansas and San Jacinto College before being drafted in the first round of the 2019 draft by the Washington Nationals.  He is currently in the Nationals organization and has thrown in 7 Major League games becoming the first Falcon to play in an MLB game.

Coltyn Kessler – 2017

In 2017 Coltyn earned First Team All-state honors while also being named Conference Player of the Year.  A 4 year starter and 3 time team captain Coltyn is the career record holder for hits (114), RBIs (89) and walks (88).  As a senior he hit .415 with a school record .627 on base percentage while slugging .769.  Coltyn continued his career at the University of Kentucky where he played for 4 seasons and was a semifinalist for the Buster Posey Award that goes to the nation’s top catcher.  He then played one season in the Miami Marlins organization.

Jaxon Passino – 2017

As a 4 year year varsity starter, Jaxon was Named First Team All-State and All-Conference in 2017.  He graduated top 3 in career at-bats, doubles, saves, stolen bases, runs scored and hits.  In 2017 he set single season records for stolen bases (29) and saves (8) while hitting .355 and not allowing any earned runs in 19.3 innings pitched as the team’s closer.  Jaxon continued his career at Kansas State where he played 4 years for the Wildcats.

Clayton Evans – 2012

In 2012 Clayton was First Team All-State, All-Metro, and All-Conference teams while leading Summit to the State Championship.  He earned Most Valuable Player of the State Tournament honors and was awarded the Player of the Game title in the State Tournament semi-finals.  That season Clayton hit .442 with an on-base percentage of .504, tallying a school record 46 hits along with 16 RBI, 29 runs scored, and 17 stolen bases.  Evans continued his career by playing 4 years at Southeast Missouri State University, where he earned OVC All-Freshman honors and was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American.

Ben Smith – 2009

In 2009, Smith was named to the All-State, All-Metro, and All-District First Teams. He was also selected as the Suburban South Conference Player of the Year and was honored as the Rockwood Summit Male Athlete of the Year.  During that season, Ben hit .439 and set school records for Slugging Percentage (.915), Home Runs (11), and RBIs (47).  Ben continued his academic and baseball career at St. Louis Community College-Meramec and University of Arkansas – Fort Worth.

Zach Evans – 2002

In 2002, Zach had an amazing offensive season that culminated in a First Team All-State honor.  Zach batted .425 while ranking 3rd all time for his slugging percentage (.871) and tied for 4th all time in home runs (7).  He finished his career top 5 in slugging percentage, RBIs, and home runs.  

2nd Team All State

Logan Darnell – 2024

Logan finished the 2024 season with a school record 0.67 ERA and a perfect 7-0 record.  For his career he finished top 5 in wins, innings, games started, ERA, WHIP and strikeouts.  He is continuing his career at Mississippi Valley State University.

Luke Tanner – 2023

Luke finished the season hitting .402 with top 5 finishes in single season hits (37) and doubles (11) to earn Second Team All-State.  He is continuing his career at St. Charles Community College.  

Jeremy Schork – 2018

Jeremy earned Second Team All-State honors by hitting .398 and setting the school record for home runs with 13 and tying the record for RBIs with 47.  He also went 5-2 with a 2.02 ERA over 41 ⅔ innings striking out 60 batters.  He continued his career at Purdue University, SIU – Carbondale, and Henderson State University..  

Rudy May – 2017

During the State Title run in 2012, Rudy was dominant going 6-2 with a 0.76 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 46 ⅓ innings.  His ERA is the second best in school history along with his 32 career games pitched and 10 career wins.  

Devon Myers  – 2008

Devon led the 2008 team with a .444 average which is 4th best in school history along with a .551 on base percentage from the catcher position.  He finished his career top 5 in on base percentage and continued his career at Truman State University as a 4 year starter.

Greg Robinson – 2006

In 2006, Greg caught and hit .364 with a .512 on base percentage and 22 stolen bases, which is 3rd in school history.  He is also top 5 in single season and career hit by pitches. 

Devin Lally – 2006

Devon broke out in 2003 with a .419 batting average to go along with 8 doubles, 4 triples, 2 home runs and 13 steals.  

John Allman – 2003

John finished out a stellar career in 2003 by hitting .458 with 17 stolen bases and only 3 strikeouts.  The single season average is 3rd all time and he is still top 5 in career runs, hits, and triples.  John continued his career at Kansas University and then played 2 years in the Cleveland Indians organization becoming the first Summit player to play professional baseball.

Brad Merritt – 2002

Brad finished 2002 with a .398 batting average giving him a .403 career batting average, which is 6th all time.  He also cracked 8 doubles, a triple and 4 home runs that season.
